Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been a defining part of my life outside academia. During my competitive years, I became Dutch national champion in 2018 (JBN Jiu-Jitsu, U21, -77 kg), took 3rd place at the JJIF European Championship in Gelsenkirchen in 2015 (U18, -81 kg), and finished 7th at the JJIF World Championship in Athens in 2017 (U21, -77 kg).
After a sustained knee injury, I stopped competing at a high level, but my connection to the sport only grew stronger.
In 2023, I founded Mrowen Grappling to keep that journey alive through coaching. I organize and lead training sessions focused on technique, discipline, and long-term skill development, and continue to provide grappling lessons.
